Used this in . It's very useful when you need a car and there are no rental companies nearby. Doing it via the app feels quite easy if you're patient enough to jump through all the verification hoops, and if you're willing to play a treasure hunt with side quests to find the car (entering a car park, unlocking several doors and gates - all via the app, or codes provided in the app). Maybe it's more like Pokémon Go. Anyway. Might well use this again.

Generally, it's a good concept. The verification process is a bit complicated, though. 1st time I used it, all went as expected . But 2nd time, the app failed to "End rental". Called . They were friendly and helpful and solved the issue. As a , I shouldn't need to spend time and energy on app failures.

Not so bad. But not working without internet if the current rental has not been loaded a few minutes before. Very stupid since some cars are parked below the ground. I cannot understand how this has not been tackled. => Wake-up guys! Update 14/6 after reply from developer: Guys please read the reviews. I know the app works by Bluetooth, but a reason I don't get the rental was not loaded when I open the app to return the car. I was already underground.

Smart concept, successfully used it a few years ago. But the verification process was required again, which is ok. The process is very European/USA/Canada-centric. Being from other continents or countries won't get you verified, irrespective of the number of times you legit documents in English, photos and whatever is asked. I feel discriminated against for being non-European, inspite of having all visas and permits, thanks Getaround. Don't think I'll be using this again.

I was unable to start the rent. It kept saying unable to unlock the car. It was 8h30 am and I tried to emergency number without success for almost one hour. Depressed, I was about to leave but somehow the car owner help me to open the car. Had it been a real emergency situation, it would have been a much more terrible experience. When it comes to money, they are very active, they charge us every single extra second but how come they never refund what we loose because of them ?

Don't use, the app is buggy and their is useless. My sister booked a car and added me as a second driver. It kept showing as if my profile needed to be verified even though it already was (their even confirmed that). After sending multiple emails to the , I called them. It was useless, the agent told me to turn off the phones and uninstall ans reinstall the app which obviously did not work. It's almost the end of rental and nothing is solved. Use another rental company.

Very bad first experience. I had to organise an emergency important trip for next day so I chose the self service. The car was not at the pick up point. Then I was told the car was in a parking on the other side of town. The CS did not sound reassuring, I had to sort out everything myself!! I went to the other place... but the car was not there either!!! I had to cancel, and I am still waiting for my money, and NO it's not my bank holding it. I use Revolut and I can see where money is!

Worst app. I will list all my reasons before: Verification process is so bad, the document verification software intentionally blurs the photo for whatever reason. You're stuck spending 10 minutes to constantly retake a bunch of photos in a process that's meant to be done in a minute. I've had to more than 3 times so far. Rental prices mysteriously increase as soon as you select your dates. The process of messaging car owners to request Rental is very strange and not clear
